SR-869 Sawgrass Expressway (Broward County, FL)

This design-build project consisted of the widening of three existing bridges totaling over 400í in length and the construction of new sound barrier walls totaling over 15,000 feet in length. Two of the bridges consisted of cast-in-place spread footing foundations, concrete pier columns and caps, pre-stressed concrete AASHTO Type III girders and poured in place concrete deck and traffic railings. The remaining bridge was widened by installing pre-cast / pre-stressed concrete slabs on existing cast-in-place substructures. The Sound Walls consisted of a system of pre-cast concrete panels and posts installed in 30-inch diameter auger cast pile foundations.
