The project consists of the reconstruction of State Road 90 (Tamiami Trail/US-41), from a point west of S.W. 152nd Avenue to a point west of S.W. 137th Avenue. The work performed included road widening, milling and resurfacing, improvements to the drainage system, retaining wall construction, lighting and signing and pavement markings. Close coordination with multiple utility companies was necessary to prevent damages to existing systems and cooperate with several utility relocations.
An alternative maintenance of traffic plan was proposed to eliminate a traffic shift and reduce the project duration without affecting the truck traffic and traveling motorists between Naples and Miami, consequently resulting in cost savings to the Owner. Project was delivered ahead of schedule and achieved an early completion bonus.
