SR-826/I-75 Express Lanes (Miami-Dade, FL)

The SR826/I-75 Express Lanes Project, built for the Florida Department of Transportation District 6, includes the design and construction of 10 miles of Express Lanes along SR-826 (Palmetto Expressway) and three miles along I-75. The project consists of milling, resurfacing, and widening along both SR-826 and I-75. Although the project consists mostly of widening the existing roadways, impacts to existing elements of the roadway and adjacent properties may be extensive. Work includes utility relocations, drainage improvements, median barrier wall, bridge demolition, lighting, elevated structures, sign structures, and ITS / tolling facilities. Improvements will be made at several interchanges including those at NW 36th St, NW 74th St, Okeechobee Rd, NW 103rd St, and NW 122nd St. As part of the scope of work for the project, SR-826 will be widened adjacent to the Peter's Pike Canal requiring the modification of the canal cross section to mitigate impacts. This will include dredging, installation of sheet piles on both sides of the canal, and the installation of a 16' diameter CMP culvert.  This project was awarded to the joint venture of Community Condotte de Moya JV for which Condotte America is performing major work components such as the bridges, canal sheet pile walls, MSE walls and roadway construction.
