SR 973 - SW 87th Ave Reconstruction (Miami, FL)

In the midst of a predominantly residential urban area in Miami-Dade, this project consisted of several major improvements to State Road 973 (Galloway Road) from State Road 976 (Bird Road) to Grand Canal Drive. Among these improvements were more than two miles of roadway reconstruction of Galloway Road performed while maintaining traffic flow thru different maintenance of traffic phases. Key elements of construction included the bridge widening at Grand Canal on the north end, the construction of more than four miles of water main beyond the length of the project that required close coordination with a second agency (Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department) and the construction of a new drainage system to accommodate the new road configuration. As a result of the location of the project, it was necessary to work hand-in-hand with the Owner’s Public Information Office in order to coordinate the work with the least impact to the home and business owners.
