NW 12th St Toll Plazas (Miami, FL)

This Florida Turnpike project encompasses the construction of two new three-lane toll plazas to serve The Dolphin Mall at the Beacon Tradeport Center at NW 12th Street and the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike (SR 821). One plaza, designated a midsize toll plaza, consists of three lanes with a tollbooth, an administration building, and a generator/storage building. The administration building includes the following rooms: counting room, vault room, supervisor’s office, manager’s office, supplies room, toilet facilities, break room and recorder room. The generator/storage building includes a stand-by power generator system with above ground diesel fuel tank. The other plaza, designated a small ramp toll plaza, consists of three lanes with a tollbooth and a ramp building. The ramp building includes a recorder room, an office, and a break room. This facility also includes a packaged standby power system with an underground LPG storage tank. The toll lanes on each plaza are constructed with 12 inch thick Portland cement concrete paving and are covered by a 5,326 square foot concrete canopy. Both sites include asphalt surfaced parking lots for toll personnel, site drainage, water & sewer services, electrical and security systems.
